Whether your business has revenues of $50,000 a year or $500,000 a year, new ways to increase can benefit all business owners. The New York Times recently discussed five tips for reaching $1 million in revenue from Nell Merlino, the founder and CEO of Count Me In for Women's Economic Independence. Her tips include:

Do Your Research

Be sure you have a market. Conduct market research to determine if there is a want for your product in the marketplace.

Have a Vision

Figure out why you are in business. Identify your customers, what problem your product/service solves for your customers, and then share that with them.

Enlish Help

You will quickly learn you cannot do it alone. Get help and delegate some of the responsibility to others. Figure out what your strengths and weaknesses are and then surround yourself by those who can fill your weaknesses.
