Ann M says: Priceless - to have a councillor who has walked your walk, whose has talked your talk, and has felt your pain and horror. I had seen a local therapist who had thought that a woman who had lost her son and husband in an accident should be able to get over it maximum two years. When I heard that I knew that I could never have the kind of understanding and wisdom from this professional. Attempting to endure a life that has meant losing my common law partner to suicide shortly after my sister’s tragic death seems more difficult than any mountain that I have ever scaled, any problem that I have encountered, any pain that I have ever been subjected to. I live those moments when I realized that my loved ones where gone every day, it is a part of my DNA and it has altered who I am. Some days I feel that I am walking in this wasteland, there are no fragments left of my life, only a remote memory. Ronnie understands this pain, understands that we have to rebuild from our core, understands that it is an individual journey and it will take as long as it takes. Ronnie also understands about deep secondary wounding, she has also lived this. When sometimes the people close to you turn on you after a suicide. When sometimes the people who you thought you could trust betray you. She brings to your healing her own life experience and the experience of treating so many who have been forced to walk this path. She also brings her heart and intuition. I really don’t know how I could have got this far without her wisdom and compassion.

Roberta M says: In my short lifetime I have had many losses. With the help of Ronnie I am able to look at those helpless times in my life and put them into order, emotionally. And not hide from the pain, the grief, or not understanding. Ronnie helps me put thoughts into order. She listens for accomplishment, so I can be bigger than I am. That kind of listening has been extremely powerful for me. When I come out of a session with Ronnie, I'm not coming from the point of view, “why did this happen, poor me.” Instead I'm coming from the point of view, “ look what I've accomplished!” Pretty powerful stuff!

Diane H says: I was so distraught when I contacted Ronnie, as I had been having violent dreams for over a year about my husband who completed suicide by gun shot. She took me through all of my dreams, feelings of fear that i had about my husband (he was abusive). I thought, ok, i'll go through all this with you, but how is that going to help with my dreams ??!! After our second appointment, i quit having the dreams and haven't had one since- i now have peace in my life- am forever grateful for her and her intuitiveness. A miracle !

Lin C says: After my son committed suicide in March of 2008, it took me three months to find http://forum.forsuicidesurvivors, because I had never known such a thing existed - online support for survivors left behind to make sense of a loved one's suicide. On the forum she gives of herself so generously for free, I was drawn to her loving way of expressing herself, so I called her for a telephone appointment. As we have worked together, she has had a way of getting to the heart of the specific thing that was bothering me at the time I talked to her. I have never recommended a counselor before, but this woman is amazing. I owe her my sanity, if not my life.
