Chuck M says: I have been getting massage for 20 years. I am a big man and always ask for a deep tissue massage. I never realized the therapists were unable to give me the deep tissue massage I needed until yesterday when I got an Ashiatsu barefoot massage from Mary-Claire. It was a massage like nothing I had ever experienced. I got off the table energized and renewed. It was amazing. I woke this morning feeling incredible and full of life. What she can do with the ball and heal of her feet to your muscles is astonishing. If you need deep tissue massage, look no further. You must experience the work of Mary-Claire. She is a master of her craft. I do not have the vocabulary to describe what she is able to for me but it was transformational. I regret it to me this long to find her, but so glad I did. I have cancelled my monthly massage membership with another company so I can use my massage dollars where I will get the most value. Thank you Mary-Claire!

I can count on leaving her office relaxed, limber and pain free, no matter how knotted up i am when I arrive. I recommend her to everyone I meet who mentions having back or neck pain, or even just everyday aches and pains. Mary Claire is better than a whole bottle of Advil!

Mary-Claire is the only massage therapist that I always feel happy to spend money on for my massage - and I always save up my money so that I can have a full 2 hour massage because she is worth every penny and 2 hours with Mary-Claire is 2 hours of bliss. I love how well Mary-Claire really pays attention to the areas where the work is needed and because I have a full 2 hour massage I am able to really get my whole body released and relaxed. Her ashiatsu is the best thing going for my poor back- I am so much more limber when she's done, and the aches and stiffness are gone. I've been to many massage therapists before Mary Claire, and none can beat her wonderful personality or skill. I was hesitant the first time I tried ashiatsu, but now I will consider nothing else, even tho' the warm bamboo is heavenly. No matter which kind of massage you choose, you will NOT be disappointed!

This was my first visit and I was really impressed by her professionalism, the overall appearance of the office and relaxing feeling I got from the moment I walked in. I loved the fact that I was the only one there at my appointment time...not the busy, noisy, corporate atmosphere of a Mitchells. Mary-Claire was able to pin-point the exact area of my pain and give me tips on how to help alleviate the pain in between visits. She is clearly a therapist who knows what she's doing. I will definitely be back and plan to book an appointment for my husband as well!

CK P says: Mary-Claire provides me just the right combination of soft and firm, pain and pleasure, talk and peaceful silence. I am a person who has to practice deep breathing during the massage so I do not tense with anxiety. Her willingness to work quietly, with just the drum and flute CD in the background really works for me. We talk at the beginning of each meeting (with clothes on), and she really listens and asks good questions about what I am hoping to achieve. Therefore the massage is different from one meeting to the next, depending on what I am seeking.

My muscles were very tight and she was able to loosen them up. My hope is to work up to the deeper massage provided by the ashiatsu method. My wife and I are planning to have back to back sessions. I highly recommend Mary-Claire.

Gene H says: I have had about a half dozen "massages" over the past 6 years and I finally found out what a truly deep massage feels like. I opted for a 75 minute Ashitatsu massage. Okay, I was a little apprehensive after signing up then watching a video on Youtube. I kept an open mind and I am thankful I did. Mary-Claire can do things with her feet most can't do with their hands. I left there convinced that Ashitatsu is the only way to go if you want a deep massage.

And I could not lie in bed because of the pain and had to sit in an upright chair all night with little or no sleep for 3 days. With a recommendation from a parishioner, I scheduled an appointment with Marie-Claire. And after one visit for about an hour with Mary Claire, I slept for the first time(but still in a chair, no bed). Each day after the Message I got a little bit better and by the 3rd day I was sleeping in my bed normally and had about 90% of motion back with my shoulder. Still a little sore, so I will be setting a schedule with Mary-Claire shortly.

When my turn came up I went in to receive my Bamboo massage. Mary-Claire discussed my pain and issues and asked that try the Ashiatsu instead. She felt it would give me more of what I needed. I was a little reserved...I mean a massage with someone's feet? OK, 5 minutes into the massage I was not even thinking about feet...or anything except for the deep and wonderful massage I was getting. Genuine suprise at this technique and now can't imagine paying for any other massage than this one. Deep and relaxing. Comfortable. Bliss. Anyone who has reservations about this unusual tecnique needs to let it go and give it a try.

As unusual as I thought it was beforehand, having her massage with her feet felt amazing and so relaxing! The deep tissue massage was definitely a good choice for me, and I would have been happy to have laid there for another hour or more if I could. I also really enjoyed how friendly and informative Mary-Claire was - conversational and interested in learning about me and understanding my needs, without being too inquisitive or talkative to take away from the relaxing atmosphere. I would love to come back and see her as often as possible, and will be saving my money up to do just that!

I had a separated shoulder a few months ago that my chiropractor helped me heal and although my pain level is almost non existent, I still have a little soreness from time to time. This massage made my shoulder completely pain free for several days afterwards. I felt more relaxed and refreshed for an entire week after this massage than I have in a long time. I work at a computer all day and although I went in feeling like I really didn't have any residual effects from it, after the massage I realized how constantly tense I was. Feeling so relaxed made me realize how much tension I have been holding in my body. This wasn't one of those quick "make you feel good for a few minutes" kind of thing. I have felt better ever since and plan to make Mary Claire part of my wellness plan. She makes you feel welcome and comfortable and sends you home feeling relaxed and refreshed.

I came in with aches and pains from fibromyalgia and knots in my back galore, and left feeling light and limber. The warm bamboo massage was WONDERFUL! The deep pressure was constant and never let up, whereas that level of continual strong pressure is just not possible with hands, which tire more easily. She was very professional, and very creative--I have a congenital defect in my back and leg which challenges my posture and resulted in a serious injury a few years ago--she was able to find a combination of table and chair massage to help keep me comfortable and still be effective. Mary-Claire delivers wonderfully deep massages without the digging and prodding of thumbs and elbows. First time clients should plan to arrive a few minutes early. Please ensure you arrive on time for your massage. If you are late, your time may be cut short in order to maintain our schedule. If I am running late, you will receive your full appointment time.
ReservationsAll massages are by appointment only. Online, you can REQUEST an appointment time. We will either confirm that time or ask you to choose another date/time if there is a conflict. You will receive a confirmation email when your appointment is accepted as well as one the day prior to your appointment.
PaymentI accept cash and checks in the office. If you wish to pay with a credit card or Paypal, that option is available when you book your appointment. All major credit cards are accepted prior to the massage. Have a gift certificate? Please bring it with you and treat it like cash!
CancellationPlease give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel an appointment. 24 hours is appreciated. In the unlikely event that I would need to cancel, I will also give you as much notice as I can. Clients canceling less than 1 hour prior to the massage, barring extreme circumstances, will cause their gift certifcates or Groupons to be considered redeemed. NO SHOWS will lose the value of the gift certificate/Groupon and will not be able to redeem at another time.
