Kids’ entertainers cater to a specific audience. Children’s entertainment demands involvement of more diverse and ethereal performers. Kids’ entertainers are composed of not just the standard singers and dancers, but also balloon sculpture artists, clowns, costume characters, jugglers, magicians, mimes, ventriloquists, and much more. They can be impersonators of characters from children’s shows, superheroes, and villains. Usually, kids’ entertainers are hired to perform at birthday parties, although there are times when they are hired for children-themed celebrations, children’s club activities, and children’s hospital wards.

Kids’ entertainment is not an everyday sort of job. Clients needing kids’ entertainers are not available all the time. Entertainers then need to have a continuous advertising medium so that people would know where and how to contact them should they be needed. In this case, kids’ entertainers should choose media that can give them long durations for advertising their services at affordable rates.

Radio

One cost-effective and constant advertising medium is the radio. A local radio station can air advertisements at scheduled times of their on-air programs. The rates of radio advertising vary per location and for every radio station, so entertainers have to shop around their locality.

Internet

A cheaper way of constant advertising is through the Internet. Kids’ entertainers can put up a company website with information of their services. Online advertising reaches a broader market.

Yellow Pages

Kids’ entertainers could also advertise in the yellow pages. For a fee (rates vary per location), entertainers could post small-space ads that can be accessed by people. One-line ads are free. Yellow page advertisements are proven effective since these ads are scanned by people who actually need services.

Ad Content

Ad content should be able to pop clients’ imaginations and urge them to contact the entertainer. Before placing an ad, kids’ entertainers should understand who their clients are and what their audience would want. Kids’ entertainment services are usually rendered in birthday parties. Kids’ entertainers should plan an entertainment schedule that fits the celebrant’s age. Entertainment geared for three-year-olds would not work for six-year-olds. Entertainers should also determine the celebrant’s fears regarding strangers since some kids are anxious around clowns and mimes.

Kids’ entertainers are contacted mostly by parents and guardians. Ads should then be appealing to grown-ups. However, there are times when children are the ones who choose which entertainers to hire. They select from a list of kids’ entertainment advertisements and recommend those that they find engaging. Entertainers should then design their ads in a way that attracts both kids and grown-ups while maintaining a professional look.

Lastly, a majority of people who hire kids’ entertainers prefer those who can dish out a variety of performances. Versatility is a key ingredient in the entertainment industry, even in children’s entertainment. Entertainers should be able to perform what a child or a client would want at any given time.

Another way to advertise, the best in my opinion, is by word of mouth. If you are doing a good job and are able to provide a full childrens party experience then you will get repeat bookings and also bookings from shows you do.
