Find Out How!

Famous college entrepreneurs are a wonderful motivation for preparing a good and comfortable life. It is very important to earn a good education at all costs, for it is believed that this can be the most important tool in reaching your aspirations. Although majority of the population prioritize their studies over other things, there are some college students who pursue entrepreneurship even while they are at college. Most of these students ended up as drop-outs though, but they were still able to make it big in what they started.

Computer Moguls

Famous college entrepreneurs have mostly started their businesses using the power of technology. Indeed, this is a very good option because a computer, one of the basic tools for doing business, is always available for most college students nowadays. A lot of college entrepreneurs launched their computer-related companies during their college years, and some of them ended up as millionaires and billionaires.

Perhaps the most famous example here is Bill Gates, who is consistently on the list of the richest people in the world. As early as 14, he was able to make money thanks to his programming skills. He attended Harvard University, but soon left to become the founder and owner of Microsoft. Paul Allen, a friend of Bill Gates and co-founder of the company, is also a college drop-out.

Dell, Inc., Facebook, and Oracle Corporation are examples of technological companies pioneered by college entrepreneurs. Michael Dell, Mark Zuckerberg, and Larry Ellison, respective owners and founders of the mentioned companies, all embarked on their entrepreneurial journeys while they were pursuing their college degrees. Yet again, none of them ever attained it.

Entertainment Industries

It is not only in the computer world that you could find famous college entrepreneurs. The movie, music, and fashion industries are also teeming with people who made millions while they were still young. Sir Richard Branson started out by publishing a magazine, and then ended up owning the brand Virgin, some of which include Virgin Records and Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Ralph Lauren is a fashion icon who sold neckties as a student, Steve Jobs is the CEO of Apple, Inc. and the largest shareholder of Walt Disney Company, and Woody Allen is a leading producer in the film industry. Again, all three launched their businesses while at colleges.

Inventors, Stakeholders, and the Richest Men in the World

The list just never runs out. There’s Dean Kamen who is an inventor, Kirk Kerkorian who is a major stakeholder of several five-star hotels, William Faulkner who is a celebrated writer, Henry Ford who has an automobile empire, and J. Paul Getty who made billions in the oil industry.

This is not to say that one no longer needs a college degree to become a millionaire. Although one common denominator among them all is that they are all college drop-outs, what turned them into famous college entrepreneurs is that they were bound with the motivation to start a business that was appealing to the masses. So instead of partying, why not start a business as early as your college days and be enlisted among them?

want to know your opinion here. I have been facinated by people such as Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Page, Sergey Brin and many other famous Internet entrepreneurs who all studied computer science in college. I would like to be just like them infact, except I'd like to do business studies insead of computer science. Is it possible that I could still become an Internet iPhone and facebook application entrepreneur by studying business studies as my choice of a course and has anything like this ever been done before? Good advice would be much appreciated here. Thanks.
