Find Out How!

Musician finder websites are very popular nowadays. This is because they provide a lot of information regarding the musician and his music. With a musician website, a listener can explore more of the things that surround the musician. Every popular musician has his own website, which is why it is bad enough for a musician not to have one.

Musician websites usually follow a format on what pages to publish. The typical ones are the musician’s biography, news, discography, lyrics, photos, videos, sound clips, schedule, guest book, and blog. It would be best to follow this composition to make sure that the audience is getting sufficient information.

The Layout

As far as design is concerned, you should be able to achieve something that resembles your music. Thus, colors play an important role to achieve this effect. Can you just imagine a rock musician website overdone in pastel colors with feminine and frilly touches? Kudos if you are able to achieve the right atmosphere, but this is not often the case. Choose the appropriate colors and design and see which one will set the right mood.

It is nice to put up animations and other effects in a musician’s website, but admit it, these can take painstakingly long to download. Not everyone has access to a strong Internet connection, so instead of appreciating such fancy stuff, some users will only find themselves wasting their time. You can still upload these, but make sure that they are at a minimum level at that they are optimized for web use.

The Navigation

Some musician websites are rather irritating than helpful. You might have seen those splash pages in some websites which take a lot of time to load and really contribute nothing to the visitor. Of you are attempting to set up your website as a musician, get rid of this page unless you have a sound reason to do so. Users tend to get impatient, and reaching a page where they would have no apparent use of might cause them to get away from your website.

Since most users want instant access, they should be provided with clear navigation buttons in every page of the musician website. There are some which makes users just go round and round in the musician site, which is really exasperating and which can make up for ineffective info dissemination and self-promotion.

It is necessary for a musician website to reflect the music that the musician plays, but this does not mean that you don’t need to consider the needs of the users and listeners. Ultimately, the goal of such a site is to update people and to allow them to see the other facets of the musician and his music. Come to think of it, if you are able to make a user click a lot of pages within your website, chances are they will return to your site to check it for any useful information. You are then doing a good job promoting your music and yourself as a musician online.
