What to expect with a Community Acupuncture Practitioner
For your first visit, please arrive 10 minutes early to fill out a few forms, get oriented to the space and discuss any concerns.

Please help to maintain the soothing atmosphere in the community room by speaking in whispers and refrain from socializing while in the room. Silence your cell phone. Quiescence is a powerful and precious natural way to vitalize qi.

Part of the success of this healing space lies in everyone learning "the routine" & taking responsibility for appointments. Re-scheduling & making payment happens at the front desk before each treatment, so you can relax & enjoy treatment.

Qigong Classes are available weekly by appointment only. However, the 1st Thursday of the month we switch it up the intensity with the BREATH EMPOWERMENT! Please RSVP for Qigong Therapy and the BREATH EMPOWERMENT as space is limited.

Cait B says: Came in to redeem my groupon gift, and left feeling like it was well spent. I will be returning without a doubt. Irene is incredibly passionate about her work, and has such a wealth of knowledge. I have had issues for a great deal of time, and she was not only able to help me relieve the tensions in my body, but offer advice on ways I could decrease my pains and better my own lifestyle. So friendly, compassionate, and helpful. I left feeling very ready for my upcoming 1/2 marathon. Thank you!!
Outstanding as Usual

Kimber S says: Many thanks to all of the practitioners at the clinic-- the affordable and consistent services you provide to the community couldn't be more generous or gracious a gesture. That being said, each time I've been it has been a completely different experience- as I've seen a different acupuncturist each time- but each visit has been equally as therapeutic, and pleasant! It restores and ensures faith in humanity to see folks taking such great pride and care in their field of healing. Mahalo~~~
Many thanks!

Patricia C says: Thank you Shawne-that was a great treatment Japanese style! Thank you also for the affordability of the treatment which made it possible for me to come. Patricia
Community acupuncture clinic makes great care affordable
11/30/2011
Genevive B says: I have used acupuncture in the past for treatment of injuries with good results, especially when I receive it frequently and regularly. The biggest barrier to routine care that I have faced is cost. Most private practitioners charge >$100+ per session, which makes it difficult to be seen weekly or twice weekly. The community clinic at Nautilus removes this price barrier. I can easily afford to pay $20-$40 per session, which means I am able to receive acupuncture weekly, or even two or three times per week, as is often required in the early stage of treatment. The trade off is that I other people in the treatment room can overhear my ailments and issues as I discuss them with the doctor, and I can hear theirs. Initially this felt awkward, but over time I have gotten used to it and now feel totally comfortable because people are respectful. It's actually really great to see. The other downside to the community clinic model is that wait times for appointments to start can often be 15-30 minutes after the scheduled time. It works much better if you can be flexible and patient with scheduling and plan an extra 30 minutes or so into each appointment. Bottom line: If you need regular or frequent acupuncture but cannot afford private rates, and you have some flexibility and patience, then the community clinic model is worth trying.
Thank goodness for community acupuncture!

Jill J says: I went in for a treatment since I felt run down and like my immune system was working overtime. Shawna gave me a great treatment, partially in the Japanese style which left me feeling restored. I definitely recommend this place.

And this is after I've been in Physical Therapy for over five weeks! So thankful for Nautilus Holistic Health Acupunture in Encinitas! Greg - can't thank you enough!

Kay M says: Greg Lane has been great. Not only have the treatments made it possible for me to move my right wrist / thumb again, I can lift items, cut with scissors, etc. Greg's acupuncture care and his kindness has been miraculous for me, as I was fearing corizone shots and their poison in my system. Thank you, Greg!
Amazing

Reis P says: Went to see Karla yesterday because I had the flu and couldn't kick it. About 3 hours after leaving, most of my conditions had disappeared. No more fever, could breathe from my nose, and my headaches went away! On top of that Karla gave me some wonderful suggestions on what I could do on my own to help my situation, which seems above and beyond what she needed to do. So awesome! THANK YOU to Nautilus and Karla.
Thank you East
3/29/2011
Shannon R says: I had my 1st appointment yesterday and I was so happy with all the loving time that East took with me. I started acupuncture 1 year ago for some medical problems but I could no longer afford to continue. I am so happy to know that this time I will be able to continue my treatments. Thank you so much for making this possible.

Andee B says: For Nautilus Holistic Health! I have wanted to try acupuncture for a couple of reasons for a while now. I knew I would need to go at least a couple times a month to see results. Other clinics are $65 or higher per appt. I knew this was not in my budget. I then found Nautilus Holistic Health and was so happy to see their sliding scale! I went to my first appt. and had Dr. Ji. He was knowledgeable, caring, and made everything very comfortable. I always have cold hands and feet (not what I went for, but turns out to be tied to what I am trying to fix). After only one visit I went to bed with warm hands and feet! I woke up this morning and they are still warm! My husband and I keep talking about how shocked we are. I love this place, and Dr. Ji! I look forward to my new journey of healing.
THANK YOU
10/22/2010
Sharon K says: Karla Miller is amazing. I injured my arm and had to have surgery and a cast... her treatments immediately reduced the inflamation and decreased the pain I was experiencing so I can get my arm moving and working properly... it's still a work in process thing... but the acpuncture is really helping... thank you so much!
So Amazing

Recent Patient R says: My first ever acupuncture treatment was with Dr Dong Ji. He made me feel comfortable and was gentle, but effective. I look forward to exploring this treatment modality further with Dr Dong Ji, I am very encouraged by my first experience.
Positive first acupuncture experience
4/20/2010
Allie A says: I had never tried acupuncture before coming to Nautilus. A friend recommended it. My first treatment with Dr. Ji was really positive. He is very gentle and explains Chinese medicine concepts extremely well. The community approach is uniquely affordable and helpful. I watched several people get their treatment before I got mine.
Thank you, Dr. Ji
4/12/2010
Laura A says: I am so thankful that this center opened up so close to my house. Dr. Ji is gentle, kind and very caring. This is a very peaceful environment. I started going for acupuncture because I used to suffer from severe headaches cause by a cyst in my brain. I have not had a headache since starting acupuncture. I am so happy! As long as the headaches stay away, I can keep away from my neurosurgeon. What a blessing this has been in my life. Thanks is not enough! I will keep coming back to this sensitive, warm and caring place!
Amazing!
2/11/2010
Jennifer L says: I was recommended to Leslie @ Nautilus from another Acupuncturist that I have been seeing for years but has recently moved away. And what a fantastic recommendation it was! Leslie was great - I am looking forward to many more treatments with her.
I can finally sleep!
1/27/2010
Kim H says: After my first treatment (in my life), I was able to sleep through the night. It lasted three nights. Bliss! I had another treatment this week and have slept two nights through, so far. I feel so much better. Mukunda is incredibly sensitive and caring. Thank you for providing such a great service at affordable prices.
Wonderful!
12/31/2009
Johanna L says: Leslie was my therapist and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. I have only had one session thus far and plan on coming again to continue my treatment! Thank you!
Kudos!!!
11/20/2009
Erl C says: Came in with an acute condition and after the initial treatment with Jeremy, felt 50% better. The next morning felt even better. After my second treatment with Carla (who also treated a frozen shoulder), my acute condition improved further. By the time I got on the plane later in the evening for a red-eye cross country trip, I was able to walk normally without pain and the shoulder was slinging luggage without stiffness or pain. Thanks!!!
